Melissa believes every moment of life is a treasure, capture as many as possible and you will be rich.

Growing up in Oregon with 4 siblings, Melissa found there was not much to call her very own until at the age of 9 she bought her first camera at a yard sale for 25 cents: A Kodak 110. Her love of nature and spending time with her friends and family in the great outdoors nurtured her desire to capture the beauty in everything she saw.

Her adventurous spirit brought her to the east coast where she married and had two beautiful children. When her babies were born she was determined to capture every moment possible. Moments to be revisited again and again.

Being from a family of accomplished photographers, Melissa was encouraged to pursue her passion but she initially resisted as she didn’t want to be a “copy cat” but wanted to find her own niche. Entering the wedding industry in 2002 was an easy fit. Ever the romantic, Melissa found the beauty in every smile, every kiss, and every tear. She endeavors to capture these beautiful moments for others to enjoy generations to come.

Melissa began to photograph many special moments while coordinating weddings and other events. She started out doing this for personal and business reasons but she found joy in sharing her photos with the bride and groom, sometimes emailing them pictures before the end of the event. Melissa could be seen at most all weddings with a camera around her neck. She has photographed hundreds of couples and events over the last several years.
